Main ideas

A cloud-based solution is easier to maintain and upgrade than updating every single computer in a company.

  1. Scalability of the solution and support on the server vs. the need of own IT staff and hardware.
  2. An upgrade of the solution does not require an upgrade of own hardware (laptops) for all employees.
  3. Access from any device (e.g. from a mobile phone), computations run on the server, not on the client.
  4. Data can be analyzed, predicted, searched, … without affecting the performance of the local computer.

Script

  1. Scalable solution as a service
    • PCs pile up on each other (with a speedometer showing 100 % CPU load), $ fly to the pile of PCs, lots of cables, more and more IT guys stand around
    • the speedometer explodes and a cloud forms out of it
    • inside the cloud there is a rack with an array of servers and the $ rain back
  2. Easy/single point of upgrade
    • an employee comes to the boss with a laptop (upgrade arrow) and an outstretched hand, 2000 $ pop up above the boss’s head ($ spinning in his eyes/glasses)
    • an array of employees, the amount keeps spinning and growing…
    • a cloud forms above their heads
    • the boss puts only a part of the money into the cloud (upgrade arrow), the cloud grows and an upgrade arrow pops up on all employees’ laptops
  3. Device independency
    • devices as little characters come to a signpost pointing in different directions with the same destination (the cloud)
    • each one goes a different way, but they meet at the cloud and give each other a thumbs up / wave
  4. Data analysis on the fly
    • animated pictures pop out of the cloud: charts (bar/pie), networks (connections in a graph), a magnifying glass (search), …

At the end there is a progress bar from ✗ to ✓ (with a finish tape), a PC above ✗ and a cloud above ✓. The benefits (main ideas) arrive one by one and the progress bar fills up to the finish.
