Why to use cloud-based data storage

Easy access to data from anywhere

It is better to have data in cloud-based storage than in user's local storage.

Main ideas

It is better to have data in a cloud-based storage than in user’s local storage.

  1. You are not limited to the local network, you can work from anywhere without installing any software or client.
  2. Permissions and workflows can be set, nobody steals the data together with a laptop (security).
  3. Easy upgrade of software and hardware, changes of data structures do not need to be distributed.
  4. One set of data, not everybody has their own copy which cannot be merged.

Script

  1. Difficult/easy to access and distribute an office vs. a park bench or a café
    • a guy sits at his PC, zoom out, behind him another one, zoom out, next to them more and more rows… an office of sad zombies, cut
    • a guy on a park bench with a laptop, like Forrest Gump, a feather floating in the air, the sun is shining
  2. Difficult/easy to secure data
    • the guy sits on the bench and a thief steals his laptop, a cloud covers the sun
    • the guy shrugs, takes out his phone, connects to the cloud and continues working
  3. Difficult/easy to update/upgrade
    • in the office one guy clicks on update and a progress bar appears above his head, it gradually appears above everybody and they all wait for it to finish
    • cut to the guy on the bench, the cloud is updated and just a message updated appears
  4. Difficult/easy to collaborate
    • in the office one guy draws the back of a horse (we can see what he draws), another one draws the head, but in a different style
    • at the end there are three or four parts, each one different (like the famous unfinished horse), they should fit together, a sad guy
